Job Descriptions:
Operator
Job Responsibilities:
- - Reports to site Foreman or Project Manager.
- - Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner consistent with company values, policies and procedures.
- - Check equipment before operating to ensure it is in safe mechanical condition.
- - Report all unsafe acts including near misses.
- - Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations including decreased equipment down time.
- - Identify and report any defects.
- - Lubricate and perform minor maintenance work as required..
Qualifications:
- - 2 + years experience operating equipment in civil constuction.
- - Diverse indvidual that can work independently as well as in a team environment.
- - Effective communicator, willingness to learn, detail - oriented, organized with the desire to multitask.
- - Heavy equipment operator certificate an asset.
- - Ability to meet deadlines.
- - Class 5 driver's license.
- - Knowledge of construction and maintenance techniques.
- - Strong attention to detail.
- - Ability to operate all types of heavy equipment but primarily excavator.
- - Strong desire to work safe.
Truck Driver
Job Descriptions:
- - Pre and post inspections.
- - Document and log work/rest periods as well as kilometers driving and retain all reciepts.
- - Safely transport material to and from job sites.
- - Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- - Comply with all Dept. of Transportation truck driving rules and regulations as well as company policies and procedures
- - Collect and verify all delivery instructions.
- - report all defects, accidents, incidents including near misses as well as any and all violations.
- - experience towing tag trailer an asset.
Qualifications:
- - Proven work experience.
- - Ability to work as needed although the typicla work week is Monday to Friday (occasional weekends)
- - Valid class 3 or class 1 with air endorsement.
- - Safe driving record.
Pipe Layer
Job Responsibilities:
- - Installations of all aspects of underground civil utilitiesthat include piping, manholes, catch basins etc.
- - Assist in identifying inherent risks and opportunities.
- - Consult and communicate with site foreman regarding changes and adjustments to scope of work and/or original cost estimates.
- - Maintain grades as required by site specifications and report any discrepancies.
- - Must be willingand trained to work in trenches, excavation, manholes etc.
- - Work safely at all times especially under adverse conditions while identifying potential hazards and making appropriate corrections.
- - Perform tests for various types of pipe systems including air/pressure testing.
Qualifications:
- - Minimum 2 years experience with all aspects of underground civil utilities installation replacement and repair.
- - Excellent understanding of soil conditions, safe work practices and procedures.
- - Diverse individual that can work independently as well as in a team environment.
- - Effective communicator, willingness to learn, detail - oriented, organized with the desire to multi-tast.
- - Possess a minimum class 5 driver's license.
General Laborer
Job Respsibilities:
- - All types of general labour related to excavation, concrete work, asphalt etc.
- - Communicate with site foreman regarding requirements and any necessary changes.
- - Promote a safe environment.
- - Be willing to accept any training necessary to improve experience.
- - Participate in safety meetings and hazard assessments.
Qualifications:
- - Positive attitude.
- - Physically capable of performing labor duties.
- - Possess a minimum of a class 5 driver's license.
- - Diverse individual that can work in a team environment.
- - Effective communicator.
- - Willing to learn.
- - 2 + years experience an asset.
Traffic Control Person (TCP)
Job Responsibilities:
- -Safely direct traffic flow through temporary workplaces using stop/slow paddles, hand signals, and traffic devices.
- -Set up and take down traffic signs, cones, and barriers according to approved traffic control plans.
- -Maintain open, clear communication with the crew and other TCPs via two-way radios to regulate traffic flow.
- -Constantly monitor surroundings and traffic patterns, reporting any unsafe acts, hazards, or incidents to supervisors immediately.
- -Provide guidance and assistance to pedestrians crossing work areas.
- -Must be prepared to stand for an extended period of time.
- -Adaptable to work in all weather conditions.
- -Schedule flexibility required.
- -Positive team attitude.
